A note about smocking plates and patterns:
We offer a service so that you can use any smocking plate, not just our designs. We sell you the smocking plate and it is included with your finished garment, just like a bricks and mortar sewing shop would do.

This method lets the smocking plate designer sell her plates to each person who uses them, just as if you bought the smocking plate and the fabric yourself and brought it to us to make for you. But in this case, we do the legwork for you. You don't have to buy the items and bring them to us. You just choose the pattern and the fabric that you would like and we make the garment and send it to you.

Most of the garment designs that we use are classic clothing designs. If you do ask for a design made directly from a commercial pattern, we will include that pattern in the cost of your order and ship it with your finished garment. If you would like several items made from the same pattern, you only need to purchase the pattern once. Most patterns are multi-size patterns, so once you have purchased a pattern, we can continue to use that pattern for you for many years, and many of them for both boys and girls.
